The Mourning Moonlight
Inspired by the gentle glow of November's Mourning Moon, our mission is to provide heartfelt support during life's final transitions. We believe in honoring each individual's journey with empathy, dignity, and personalized care. The Mourning Moon whispers secrets of transition, reminding us that every ending is but a prelude to a new beginning and within the darkness, there is light.

The Mourning Moon

How could a death doula benefit you?
Whether you're navigating your own aging process, supporting a loved one, or facing end-of-life decisions, The Mourning Moonlight is here to offer warmth, understanding, and personalized guidance and care.
A death doula, much like a birthing doula, holds a sacred space during one of life’s most profound transitions. With compassion and deep understanding, they help individuals and families navigate the often-intimidating journey toward end-of-life. They provide emotional, spiritual, and practical support to individuals and their families at any stage of life. Ultimately, death doulas guide families and individuals towards being present, embracing the beauty of each fleeting day, and allowing for a serene passage, one that honors both life and the transition that follows.
Death Doulas provide:
Guidance in creating personalized end-of-life plans that honor your values and wishes
Facilitate meaningful discussions regarding wishes to ensure clarity and understanding amongst you and loved ones.
Offer a calming, supportive presence during times of change
What's the difference between a death doula and hospice
While both hospice and death doulas focus on end-of-life care and support, there are some key differences:
Hospice: Provides services to those who meet end-of-life requirements set by insurance guidelines. Meaning, you must have a significant decline to get their services. They are able to provide medical care, pain management, and provide support through multiple disciplines.
Death Doulas: Typically offers non-medical support, including emotional, spiritual, and practical assistance. However, at the Mourning Moonlight, our services are uniquely enhanced by the expertise of a Registered Nurse, allowing us to provide both medical and non-medical support. This means we can address physical needs alongside emotional and spiritual.
